'Unless God builds the house,
Its builders labor in vain.
Unless God watches over a city,
The watchmen stand guard in vain.
In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat;
For He grants sleep to those He loves.'
Psalm 127:1-2

What a pertinent word for me tonight as I read my Bible! It's my last night in this home, as I will be off on my travels tomorrow and when I return, my family would have moved to a different location. Due to recent circumstances, I've been caught up in a little bit of what I may call - valid worry. It's valid to worry when someone you care for is not well. It's valid to worry when you feel you're going to be far away from everyone and you're hoping things don't go wrong. It's valid to worry about what you might pursue next when the future appears as hazy as it is.

But these simple few lines from the Psalms really spoke to me and reminded me of my frailty. No matter how hard I try or how much I worry, sometimes it won't change a thing.

Where will I find true peace and rest?

I find it in God. Truly, He grants rest to those He loves - to those who seek to love Him.

All my strivings are mere grasping for the wind if I am not trusting in God and depending on His wisdom in all that I do.

Simple as that.
